Assuming this as second last beta piece of the FireFox before Mozilla shells out the final release, we may see the development of Alphas and Betas of this build over last one year. There will be another beta i.e. Firefox 4 Beta 11 before the Final version.

With IE9 RC around the corner, the browser war is likely to heat up again.

Firefox 4 beta 8, for Windows, Mac and Linux, has been released on December 22nd, 2010 by Mozilla. The Beta Version of Firefox 4 Web browser is expected to focus on improving previously included features.

• The latest beta of Firefox 4 refines syncing features, shown here in an earlier version in June 2010.
• The biggest feature improvement in this round of updates is the streamlining of the set-up process for Firefox Sync, which Mozilla hopes will make it easier to have the same bookmarks, history, preferences, tabs and passwords across all computers and phones.
• Mozilla has also achieved an important Milestone: Firefox is now faster than Webkit in the critical Sunspider benchmark and on its own specific test system.
• Firefox 4 Beta 8 drops the status bar and integrates a refreshed password manager.

Installation & configuration :

After installation from the link , restart firefox and you could notice a small icon would be visible in in Firefox status bar. Clicking it would popup Scribfire Account Wizard (Image 2)

Set your blog URL and press next. It would get Custom login details where you may configure Blog type, Username & Password details. (Image 3).

After configuration firefox window will be divided into resizeable frames for scribfire & webpage. Here bloggers may edit their post with various formatting 7 embedding options.  

After editing your post, Publish it, which can give you option to save it as a draft as well.

Mozilla has released  the availability of a release candidate of Firefox 3.6. This preview software is available for free download and has been issued as an automatic update to all Firefox 3.6 beta users. Over 75% of the thousands of Firefox Add-ons have now been upgraded by their authors to be compatible with Firefox 3.6. This release candidate may update itself periodically, and will eventually be exactly the same as the final Firefox 3.6 release itself.

Firefox 3.6 (built on the Gecko 1.9.2 platform) introduces several new features for users and developers:

App Button : An App Button which is similar to the single menu approach taken by Windows 7 native applications (Paint, WordPad) and by MS Office.

The UX team feels this approach has several advantages over the previous idea:

• It is less complex
• Takes up less space
• Instead of two potentially conflicting locations for menu items, there is now only one unified location
• Can be placed in the upper left analogous to the Menubar paradigm it is replacing
• Similar to the far more ubiquitous Office 2007/2010 + Windows 7 application menu
• Reduces clutter on the Navigation Toolbar
• It also creates a more flexible and rich canvas for perhaps doing some decidedly non-menu-esque things

One of the benefits of the App Button is that it is similar to the way Microsoft is treating its native apps and Office. Another benefit is that the placement is closer to where the Menubar would be and therefore it is more familiar.These UI changes are scheduled for Firefox 4.0 only, and will not make it in time for 3.7. And as Recently Firefox predicted FF4.0 may be delayed upto 2011, i am sure inspite of these attractive features it would be out of race.

                          

Mozilla is all set to release its first version of Firefox for smartphones, Firefox Mobile (previously known by its codename Fennec) and is preparing to launch a release candidate next week with an official debut coming later this month.

Firefox Mobile and the upcoming Firefox 3.6 are based on the same underlying code, therefore Firefox Mobile is compatible with many extensions made for its desktop counterpart. Firefox Mobile can run many of the same extensions as its desktop version. Among the 30 extensions currently available is AdBlock Plus.
