In my latest and last post for The Windows Club, I try to discuss a few of these tools.

Windows Live Photo Gallery includes a lot of fantastic features and one need not learn complex image editing suites to play around with their images. There are some interesting and useful third party tools available for Windows Live Photo Gallery, that can increase user experience. You can add a few such tools from the More tools menu on the Create tab in Photo Gallery.

Insert File Plugin for Windows Live Writer is compatible with all the versions of Windows Live Writer. This is a perfect alternative to manually upload an attachment that you want to include with a post. After installation of this plugin you can find the feature “Insert file attachment” in Insert option of WLW. Also you may set Link Caption which gives a name to the file & other is a Link Prefix that allows you to display a prefix before your file’s link like “Download: “ followed by the file caption.

                          

In the past, taking panoramic photos required a special camera, lenses, or the use of complicated camera features. The only other option was to paste photos together by hand. Photo Gallery makes creating panoramic photos much easier and much more fun.

To create a panorama, install Windows Live Photo Gallery if you haven’t installed it already.

Creating a Panorama in Windows Live gallery :

1. Take a series of photos that overlap a little. Here is an example using photos of Amsterdam.The four photos will be used to create the panorama

2. After you import the photos into Photo Gallery, select them by holding down the CTRL key while you click each photo.

3. Click Make, and then click Create a panoramic photo. Photo Gallery analyzes and adjusts the photos so they fit together smoothly.

4. Select a name and folder location for the panoramic photo.

5. The precision of the panoramic photo depends on the amount of overlap in the photos and the similarity of the lighting between the photos. Experiment with it a few times until you get a good feel for the type of photo scenes that stitch together best from your particular camera.

6. After the photos are stitched together, you can clean up the rough edges by cropping the photo. Click Fix, and then click Crop photo.

7. Select the section of the photo you want to keep and click Apply.  Applying the changes to the panoramic photo

8. When you’re finished editing your new panoramic photo, click Back to gallery to return to the gallery. Photo Gallery automatically saves the photo for you.

You can retrieve your Gmail messages with a client or device that supports IMAP, like Windows Live Mail by enabling IMAP in your account.

To enable IMAP in Gmail:

1. Sign in to Gmail.
2. Click Settings at the top of any Gmail page.
3. Click Forwarding and POP/IMAP.
4. Select Enable IMAP.
5. Configure your IMAP client and click Save Changes.
