When you reset Internet Explorer settings, all add-ons and customizations are deleted, and you basically start with a fresh version of Internet Explorer. This article helps you reset Internet Explorer.<\/p>\n<p>If the problem is caused by damaged or incompatible Internet Explorer settings or add-ons, you can usually resolve the problem by resetting Internet Explorer settings.<\/p>\n<p>To use the Reset Internet Explorer Settings feature from Control Panel, follow these steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li> Exit all programs, including Internet Explorer (if it is running).<\/li>\n<li> If you use Windows XP, click <strong class=\"uiterm\">Start<\/strong>, and then click <strong class=\"uiterm\">Run<\/strong>. Type the following command in the <strong class=\"uiterm\">Open<\/strong> box, and then press ENTER:\n<div class=\"indent\"><span class=\"userInput\">inetcpl.cpl<\/span><\/div>\n<p>If you use Windows Vista, click <strong class=\"uiterm\">Start<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"kb_nowrapper\">\n<div class=\"\"><span class=\"kb_collapsetext_close\"><span class=\"kb_collapsetext_background\"><\/span>Collapse this image<\/span><span class=\"kb_expandtext\"><span class=\"kb_expandtext_background\"><\/span>Expand this image<\/span><\/div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"graphic\" src=\"http:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/library\/images\/support\/kbgraphics\/Public\/EN-US\/VistaStartButton.jpg\" alt=\"Start button\" title=\"Start button\" \/><\/div>\n<p>. Type the following command in the <strong class=\"uiterm\">Start Search<\/strong> box, and then press ENTER:<\/p>\n<div class=\"indent\"><span class=\"userInput\">inetcpl.cpl<\/span><\/div>\n<p>The <strong class=\"uiterm\">Internet Options<\/strong> dialog box appears.<\/li>\n<li> Click the <strong class=\"uiterm\">Advanced<\/strong> tab.<\/li>\n<li> Under <strong class=\"uiterm\">Reset Internet Explorer settings<\/strong>, click <strong class=\"uiterm\">Reset<\/strong>.
