One is 64 Bit Version of Windows &amp; other is 32 Bit version of Windows. Usually, Windows comes preinstalled on new computers. While downloading any software if the website asks you if your Windows is 32 bit or 64 bit then to find the bit Version of your Windows, here is how you can do it and easily tell what Bit version you have of Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Windows XP<\/u><\/strong><b>&#160; To find your Operating System information in Windows XP:<\/b><\/p>\n<h6><font size=\"3\">Method 1: View System Properties in Control Panel<\/font><\/h6>\n<ol>\n<li>Click <strong>Start<\/strong>, and then click <strong>Run<\/strong>. <\/li>\n<li>Type sysdm.cpl, and then click <strong>OK<\/strong>. or&#160; Select <strong>Control Panel &gt; <strong>Performance and Maintenance &gt;<\/strong> <b>System<\/b><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Click the <strong>General<\/strong> tab. The operating system is displayed as follows:\n<ul>\n<li>For a 64-bit version operating system: <strong>Windows XP Professional x64 Edition Version <var>&lt; Year&gt;<\/var><\/strong> appears under <strong>System<\/strong>. <\/li>\n<li>For a 32-bit version operating system: <strong>Windows XP Professional Version <var>&lt;Year&gt;<\/var><\/strong> appears under <strong>System<\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>     <b>Note <\/b><var>&lt;Year&gt;<\/var> is a placeholder for a year.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If you&#8217;re running the 64-bit version of Windows XP, the system information will be displayed as illustrated in the graphic below. Note the value.\n<ul>\n<li>If the value that corresponds to <strong>Processor<\/strong> starts with <strong>x86<\/strong>, the computer is running a 32-bit version of Windows. <\/li>\n<li>If the value that corresponds to <strong>Processor<\/strong> starts with <strong>ia64<\/strong> or <strong>AMD64<\/strong>, the computer is running a 64-bit version of Windows.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong><u>Windows Vista<\/u><\/strong><b>&#160;&#160;
