{"id":333,"date":"2009-07-30T18:56:00","date_gmt":"2009-07-30T18:56:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/windowsvj.com\/wpblog\/?p=333"},"modified":"2009-07-30T18:56:00","modified_gmt":"2009-07-30T18:56:00","slug":"upgrading-from-windows-7-rc-to-final","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/windowsvj.com\/wpblog\/2009\/07\/upgrading-from-windows-7-rc-to-final\/","title":{"rendered":"Upgrading From Windows 7 RC To Final"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The steps that were outlined for upgrading the Windows 7 beta release to release candidate were the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Download the ISO as you did previously and burn the ISO to a DVD.<\/li>\n<li>Copy the whole image to a storage location you wish to run the upgrade from .<\/li>\n<li>Browse to the sources directory.<\/li>\n<li>Open the file cversion.ini in a text editor like Notepad.<\/li>\n<li>Modify the MinClient build number to a value lower than the down-level build. For example, change 7100 to 7000.<\/li>\n<li>Save the file in place with the same name.<\/li>\n<li>Run setup like you would normally from this modified copy of the image and the version check will be bypassed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The rtm build of Windows 7  is distributed with the build number 7600.
