Additionally, those PCs with hardware virtualization have it turned off by default, so you will need to turn on the hardware virtualization capability before you can use it.<\/span><\/p>\n<h6><span class=\"Apple-style-span\"  style=\"font-family:arial;\"><span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"font-size: medium;\">To determine whether your PC works with Windows XP Mode:<\/span><\/span><\/h6>\n<p class=\"\"><span class=\"Apple-style-span\"  style=\"font-family:arial;\">Step 1. Does my PC have a CPU with support for hardware virtualization?<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"list_after_para\"><strong><span class=\"Apple-style-span\"  style=\"font-family:arial;\">For Intel processors:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"decimal\">\n<li>\n<p class=\"\"><span class=\"Apple-style-span\"  style=\"font-family:arial;\">           Do<\/span><span class=\"Apple-style-span\"  style=\"font-family:arial;\">wnload, install and run the <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.intel.com\/support\/processors\/tools\/piu\/\"><span class=\"Apple-style-span\"  style=\"font-family:arial;\">Intel Processor Identification Utility<\/span><\/a><span class=\"Apple-style-span\"  style=\"font-family:arial;\">.         <\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"list_after_para\"><span class=\"Apple-style-span\"  style=\"font-family:arial;\">Navigate to the CPU Technologies tab and read the value in the &#8220;Intel Virtualization Technology&#8221; field.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"alphalocase\">\n<li>\n<p class=\"\"><span class=\"Apple-style-span\"  style=\"font-family:arial;\">If the value is No then your CPU does not support hardware virtualization.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\"><span class=\"Apple-style-span\"  style=\"font-family:arial;\">If the value is Yes then the CPU supports hardware virtualization. Does my PC BIOS support hardware virtualization, and is it turned on?<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><span class=\"Apple-style-span\"  style=\"font-family:arial;\">Instructions to turn on hardware virtualization in your PC BIOS are specific to OEM models.
