{"id":551,"date":"2009-09-18T09:45:47","date_gmt":"2009-09-18T09:45:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/windowsvj.com\/wpblog\/?p=551"},"modified":"2009-09-18T09:45:47","modified_gmt":"2009-09-18T09:45:47","slug":"install-windows-vista-and-windows-7-using-bootable-usb-storage-device","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/windowsvj.com\/wpblog\/2009\/09\/install-windows-vista-and-windows-7-using-bootable-usb-storage-device\/","title":{"rendered":"Install Windows Vista and Windows 7 using bootable USB storage device"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Windows Vista and Windows 7 can be installed via a bootable USB drive as well.And the installation would be much easier and faster than installation via DVD.Windows Server 2008 &amp; Windows Server 2008 R2 also can be installed via USB drive except installation of Windows 7 &amp; Windows Vista .Initially Windows Vista\/7 DVD or installation source (setup backup files stored on local hard disk) &amp; a 4GB USB 2.0 Storage device would be required.You can follow the steps to install Windows Vista\/7 from USB Drive.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. <\/strong>Plug your USB storage device and run <strong>CMD<\/strong> and execute the following commands one after another.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Diskpart<\/strong>         <br \/><em>Run Disk partition utility<\/em> <\/li>\n<li><strong>List disk<\/strong>         <br \/><em>To get disk index that is used to perform disk partitioning.<\/em> <\/li>\n<li><strong>Select disk 1<\/strong>         <br \/><em>Selects disk to perform disk partitioning.<\/em> <\/li>\n<li><strong>Clean<\/strong>         <br \/><em>Flush your existing all USB drive\u2019s partitions.<\/em> <\/li>\n<li><strong>Create partition primary<\/strong>         <br \/><em>Creates a partition as primary partition.<\/em> <\/li>\n<li><strong>Format recommended<\/strong>         <br \/><em>Format your USB drive with recommended parameters.
