On 11th Nov,2010 another chapter in the rising competition in the mobile phones market was seen when DELL ,known for his laptops and desktops, launched its mobile phone XCD28 and XCD35 in INDIA.Company will compete with brands like NOKIA and SAMSUNG who are considered as the market leaders in this segment.

With today’s launch, we extend the same to the smartphones market as starting with the XCD series, we look to offer technology solutions to a much larger audience,” said Mahesh Bhalla, General Manager, Consumer & SMB, Dell India.So it is very clear that DELL is eyeing to grab the potential share of the emerging smartphone market in INDIA. The pricing of phones clearly is an indication of the company who is trying to create a separate smartphone market for itself by pricing the phones in the range which finds larger audience.XCD28 and XCD35 are priced at Rs10990/- and Rs16990/- respectively.The XCD28 will be immediately while the XCD35 will be available by dec,2010.

Featuring a 2.8-inch LCD touchscreen display TFT resistive touch screen display with 240×320 pixels screen resolution, video player,audio player, expandable memory upto 16 GB(inbuilt 200Mb) using MicroSD cards , 3. 2 MP digital camera for high resolution pictures with video capture and auto focus , connectivity options like GPRS, EDGE ,Bluetooth,3G and USB and is Java enabled.. The Android 2.1 OS is powered with ARM11 600MHz processor, 256MB of RAM and 256MB of ROM.The phone will support 3G for high speed connectivity, WiFi and Bluetooth. Dell XCD28 also offers full internet browsing, a media player supporting multiple formats for videos, music and photos and features such as location awareness. Additionally, the phones will offer support for FM Radio and access to Microsoft Email Exchange through Activesync and is social networking friendly.
Dell XCD35 is a 3G enabled GSM mobile phone featuring a 3.5 inch TFT capacitive touch screen display with OLED technology and 480×800 pixels screen resolution, video player, audio player,Stereo FM Radio, expandable memory upto 32 GB , 3.2 MP digital camera for high resolution pictures with video capture and auto focus , connectivity options like GPRS, EDGE ,Bluetooth,3G, HSDPA and USB and is Java enabled.It is powered by ARM11 600Mhz processor and runs on Android v2.1 OS.It supports access to Microsoft Email Exchange through Activesync, GPS with Satnav Support and is social networking friendly.
