The story begins like this, One fine morning you wake up and find yourself on cloud to see a mail from one of the biggest IT companies in India TCS. Congrats. while reading through the mail you get overwhelmed by joy by finding that company is offering you one of the best packages with fancy addons like HRA, DRA. All you need to do is confirm them with a meager security amount ranging some what between 5000-20,000 INR.

Being invested so much money in education and training one would consider going for this opportunity associated risk being far less. But that is the catch. The moment you think you going to avail this opportunity is the moment you are pacing towards being a victim of a fraudulent activity.

Recently, there have been a lot of juniors & friends who have enquired me about agencies conducting employment interviews and making job offers on behalf of TCS, Wipro Tech (Another IT Giant in India, of whose offer I declined though).

As these mails say :

As confirmed by TCS (My Ex-employer)these mails are neither authorised nor they have appointed any agent/agency/company to conduct employment interviews or to make offers of employment/benefits on their behalf.

TCS is a complete merit-based employer. It has neither authorised nor appointed any agent/agency/company to conduct employment interviews or to make offers of employment/benefits on its behalf. Also, TCS does not charge any security amount from Experienced Professionals or Campus Recruits before or during the hiring process. Any such communication is against the company policy.

The email which has been congratulating people for being shortlisted in Wipro Tech looks like :

Offer Letter

My sources from Wipro Technology too declined if there is such agency being promoted by Wipro Tech.

TCS has strictly quoted

We will not accept any liability for the content of any such fraudulent or unauthorised email, or for the consequences of any actions taken on the basis of the information provided in these fraudulent mails. Any offers/benefits/content/instructions presented in such misleading emails impersonating TCS do not represent those of the company, Tata Consultancy Services Limited and the company reserves full right to initiate civil and criminal proceedings against those involved in perpetuating such fraud.

TCS has also issued a notice as a counter measure for this. I believe the same goes for Wipro Technology as well . If your friends, family or you come across any such fraudulent messages or have any queries regarding the same, you may strictly ignore the same and report to the concerned company for confirmation. Remember these fake job offerings are being made via Short Messaging services (SMS) too. Also the CTC’s as mentioned by these mails/SMS are none of those being offered at Fresher level entries. Infact these are the ones to lure you to the den of these chicaneries.

If you have encountered any such issue do share your experiences here in the comment section. People have been sharing their experiences over Consumer Forums as well. This can help people not to be victimized considering bitter experiences of any victim.
