Recently i was having a discussion which is better firefox or chrome and one of strong point i used was absence of Add-ons in Chrome. I think google was listening to me , and few days after Chrome extensions were announced by Google. Google Chrome extensions are a great way to add more features and functionality to the browser. Sometimes, a feature is really useful for some people, but not for everyone. Extensions let you customize Google Chrome with features you like, while keeping your browser free of clutter that you don’t use.

Users can install and uninstall them quickly without restart, and extensions have a great polished look that fits in with Google Chrome’s minimalist aesthetic. When developers upload an extension it is available to users immediately, with limited restrictions and manual reviews only in a few situations.

Extensions are currently available on Google Chrome Beta for Windows and Linux, and on the Dev channel build for Mac.
