Mozilla has released  the availability of a release candidate of Firefox 3.6. This preview software is available for free download and has been issued as an automatic update to all Firefox 3.6 beta users. Over 75% of the thousands of Firefox Add-ons have now been upgraded by their authors to be compatible with Firefox 3.6. This release candidate may update itself periodically, and will eventually be exactly the same as the final Firefox 3.6 release itself.

Firefox 4 Windows UI update changes in App button

Firefox 4 UI has some major changes in App Button. The new button is set to replace the menu toolbar that Firefox users are accustomed to. You can see just how much space the new layout saves when compared to Firefox 3.5.

Mozilla to launch mobile version of Firefox

Mozilla is all set to release its first version of Firefox for smartphones, Firefox Mobile (previously known by its codename Fennec) and is preparing to launch a release candidate next week with an official debut coming later this month.

Firefox Mobile and the upcoming Firefox 3.6 are based on the same underlying code, therefore Firefox Mobile is compatible with many extensions made for its desktop counterpart. Firefox Mobile can run many of the same extensions as its desktop version. Among the 30 extensions currently available is AdBlock Plus.

Firefox Omni Bar : Search from Address Bar

Firefox 3.5 and above has a feature called omni bar, here in the address bar not just URL/Web address need to be entered but the search query can be entered as well and it would fetch the details from the Google search engine and would display to the webpage. This has been a feature in Google Chrome from its early versions.
